Frequently asked questions
No. Your practitioner will order any pathology tests during the consultation where clinically appropriate. A GP referral is not required.
Regeniq does not charge for pathology tests. We have partnered with Sonic Healthcare's pathology network, including Melbourne Pathology, Douglas Hanly Moir Pathology, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, and Clinpath Pathology. Pathology costs depend on Medicare eligibility and the specific tests ordered (see Q4).
All consultations are privately billed and not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Many routine pathology tests ordered by your practitioner are eligible for Medicare rebates. Our pathology network typically bulk-bills MBS-listed tests for patients with a valid concession card (Pensioner Concession, Health Care, DVA, or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card), at the provider's discretion. Some specialised tests, including certain vitamin assays (for example, Active B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C), are not MBS-listed and attract an out-of-pocket fee. Your practitioner will inform you if any ordered test falls outside MBS coverage.
Your initial consultation is a 15-minute video call with an AHPRA-registered Nurse Practitioner. Your practitioner will review your current health, lifestyle, any existing bloodwork you have, and the goals you would like to discuss. Where clinically appropriate, a pathology referral is issued and a clinician-led care plan is discussed. A written summary is provided after the consultation.
